Guest Post – How Do You Deep Clean Your Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush?

November 1, 2011 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

These are the usual instructions for brush cleaning:

  1. Wet the bristles.
  2. Apply a small amount of shampoo onto your hand and with the brush, work into a lather.
  3. Rinse the bristles under running water. The initial stream of water will contain makeup residue.
  4. Rinse until no shampoo or makeup residue is left on the bristles.
  5. Leave to dry.

Well, with the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabubi Brush, the usual set of rules don’t work to bring the brown and dirty bristles from a week’s use back to their original white tip condition.

Today I guest blogged about how the Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge managed to miraculously clean the hardest to clean of brushes – Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush. If you read it, it will change your life too. Haha.

As mentioned in my post on how to How To Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes With The Daiso Detergent For Puff and Sponge, I was pulling out my hair every time I had to wash the F80 brush. Due to its incredibly soft and dense bristles that stain from liquid foundation, regular shampoo cannot get rid of the makeup residue.

Was it just me? Was my method of brush cleansing wrong? I thronged the web for a solution, then I came across blogs that claimed that staining of the Sigma F80 is inevitable.

No, no.

I was not willing to take ‘inevitable staining’ for an answer.

From a 45 minutes brush cleansing battle, the Daiso brush cleanser has cut the time required to clean the Sigma F80 brush to a mere 5 minutes (less than that actually!).
