Back To M.A.C Program: 1 Lipstick Of Your Choice In Exchange For 6 Items

March 18, 2012 by Bun Bun 10 Comments

I’m glad I had only thrown away a couple of panned out MAC blushes – all Pink Swoon – before I got to know about the Back To M.A.C Program. Haha, I wasn’t too adventurous in the past when it came to blushes. I still have another Pink Swoon in my stash, but the most often used blush now is Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso.

2 Pink Swoons saying goodbye.

Back To M.A.C is the company’s recycling program, and is one of its five social initiative programs.

The program is pretty clear-cut – return six M.A.C primary packaging containers in exchange for a free MAC lipstick of your choice. The lipstick cannot be from the M.A.C Viva Glam program as 100% of the purchase price of any item from that program contributes to the M.A.C AIDS Fund. I think they used to offer lipglass and eye shadow too, but now it’s only lipstick.

Makeup Look: Bourjois Blue Eyeliner + Sugarpill Purple Lower Lashline (And A Wedding Proposal!)

February 10, 2012 by Bun Bun 18 Comments

The trick to make colored eyeliners work is to keep the rest of the eye makeup neutral or not-so-colorful, so that the focus is on the eyeliner. This is the look I wore in the MAC 109 Small Contour Brush review and Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner review.

Here are the products used:

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden

Eyelid – Sugarpill Afterparty

Contour Area – NYX Red Bean

Outer V – None

Highlight – Sugarpill Tako

Inner Corner – Sugarpill Tako

Lower Lash Line – Sugarpill Poison Plum, NYX Dark Brown

Eyeliner  – Bourjois Contour Clubbing Blue Remix Eyeliner, Clio Brush Liner Kill Black

Eyelash Primer – Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base

Mascara – Clio O’Tank Volume Mascara (this is the crappy mascara I was talking about in the previous post)

Eyebrow – Lioele Auto Eyebrow 02 Dark Brown (Pardon the strays :P )

Mitchy-Matchy: Colorful Eye Makeup To Go With A Colorful Dress

January 23, 2012 by Bun Bun 23 Comments

The basic rule is that if your outfit of the day is colorful or outstanding in some way or other, eye makeup should be kept to be a minimum – at least with the colors used – so that the different elements do not contest against one another.

That’s what I normally adhere to, but you see,

“In all matters of creativity, rules are meant to be broken when necessary.” – Haley Langford

So for the first day of 2012, I wore a new, colorful, asymetrical dress and matched it with statement-making eye makeup.

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Milk

Eyelid – Sugarpill Chromalust Absinthe

Contour Area – MAC Parfait Amour

Outer V – NYX Mermaid Green

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 5

December 28, 2011 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

This must be one of my favorite eye makeup looks! It was one of my AH-HA! moments that resulted in the creation of this look. So many different colors used, all complementing each other flawlessly. I love how the gold, bronze-brown and maroon eyeshadows, and blue matte eyeliner look so perfect alongside one another. The green contact lenses brings the whole look together.

I it very mucheee!

I wore it to a Christmas Eve’s eve gathering with friends and it was perfect for my color-block ensemble of a persimmon-orange top and cobalt-blue shorts.
