Not My Cup Of Cleansing Oil – DHC Deep Cleansing Oil Review

We haven’t gone in-depth with my skincare practices, which, considering my own routine, should really be more frequently mentioned on Bun Bun Makeup Tips.

I’ll work on that, but in the meantime, it’s just much more fun doing reviews on skincare products that have a lot more to do with makeup. Like taking it off.

The other day I was going through this box of products that were either abandoned because they ceased working for me or were completely exhausted because they were so awesome. I shall make it a point to post on those products before the end of 2012. Heh.

I found in the abyss of the box the DHC Cleansing Oil and was sickened by the state of the remaining product.

Look at that dark brown stuff at the bottom of the bottle! EWWWW!!!! :S

What The Fuss?

Seeing the bottle again brought back unhappy memories we – the DHC Cleansing Oil and I – shared. Somehow, we never connected.

I was using the Fancl Cleansing Oil and after going through 4 – 5 bottles, I sought a change. The raving reviews of the popular DHC Deep Cleansing Oil finally got to me, and despite not being impressed when I tried it at the store and hesitating due to the hefty price of SGD40, I decided to bring it home.

And I didn’t understand what the fuss was all about.

Want to Remove Stubborn Waterproof Eyeliner? Don’t Count on the Silkygirl Hydra Clean Makeup Remover

Just like day and night, when there’s a ‘best’, there must always be a ‘worst’. I haven’t tried every single makeup remover there is in the market (who has?!), but enough to attest that while some outshine the others by a mile, others must be buried ten feet under.

I am on my 4th (5th?) bottle of my favorite Biore Makeup Remover for Eye and Lip and intend to re-purchase it for as long as it is in existence because it does an excellent job of removing even the most tenacious of smudgeproof and water-resistant eye makeup.

Staying over at a friend’s house one night, I had forgotten to pack the Biore Makeup Remover. She kindly lent me her Silkygirl Hydra Clean Makeup Remover and after using it, I ~~screamed at her~~ told her I was shocked that she had been subjecting her eyes and face to such great distress!

What it claims:
Hydra Clean Makeup Remover is a mild and gentle lotion that effectively removes all traces of makeup.
Formulated with moisturizing properties for sensitive and dehydrated skin. Contains Bio-White to brighten skin tone.

Does Not Remove Waterproof and Smudgeproof Makeup

Being a girl who must only use smudgeproof eyeliner and mascara, the Silkygirl Hydra Clean Makeup Remover is not strong enough to remove eye makeup that is resilient to water, oil, and sweat.

Watsons Birthday Haul With 5x Bonus Points!

Yay hayyyyyyyy! It’s finally my birthday!

There is always a good reason or two to splurge on makeup and skincare products and the reason for this month is very obvious!

Watsons rewards its members with 1 point for every S$5 purchase. And for every 20 points, you get S$1 off your purchase, meaning I have to spend S$100 to redeem W$1.

So to fully redeem my Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara which cost…. I can’t remember… maybe around S$17?, I had to use 340 points. Not bad at all considering I’d have bought so many things from Watsons even without the membership rewards.

Wait a minute.

The 340 points were earned from spending…… S$1700.00!!!!!!

ZOMG! Watsons earns a lot from me! >.<”

W$1 = 20 points = S$100

W$17 = 340 points = S$1700

SHUCKS! How did I manage to buy so many things from Watsons?! And the Rimmel mascara isn’t the only item I’ve redeemed before.

*feels guilty and runs to a corner to repent*

Okie, I feel better now.

Anyway, it’s my birthday month! So I get 5 times bonus points on the first purchase of the month! YAY! I made a list of the items I wanted to get from Watsons for the month of July, and made sure I didn’t miss anything out so that I wouldn’t waste the bonus points.
