Lancome Mat Miracle 24H Foundation Review – Perfect Cover And Finish For Oily And Blemished Skin

May 5, 2013 by Bun Bun 8 Comments

Lancome-Mat-Miracle-24H-Foundation-BO-01-Review,-Swatches,-Photos

It’s amazing – the Lancome Mat Miracle Foundation has triumphed all other foundations currently in my possession. 80% of the time I use this, while leaving the rest to be distributed among new foundations to be tested, existing ones which are pretty good but are overshadowed by Lancome Mat Miracle, and those not-so-suitable ones waiting to be given a second chance.

Truth be told, I was apprehensive when I received the Lancome Mat Miracle. I remember not having such a great experience with my previous Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle Foundation despite my review, afterall. Skin changed and over time, my skin decided that the Maqui wasn’t to its liking – too greasy! It was, afterall, meant to give a glowy finish but my skin confuses glowy with oily, so… BLEAH.

But you know you’ve discovered gold when you reach for the same bottle of liquid foundation over and over. And I have, with the Lancome Mat Miracle.

At first glance my skin looks pretty okie here, especially with the very flattering lights from a makeshift makeup table at the Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited event recently. But if you look closely, there are plenty of weird stuff going on on my face. Lol.

Love that it was ‘designed for Asian Skin’. :D

(WhOOps! I just only realized the ‘shake well before use’ instruction. I never looked so closely at the bottle before taking pictures for this review, that means I never shook it before. Teeheehee!)

For Asian Hooded Lids: Vertical Gradient Method Of Eyeshadow Application

July 19, 2012 by Bun Bun 16 Comments

You know that’s not my eye. LOL.

A warm welcome to Min, guest eye for today! Wheeeeee wheet!!!

Every time Min and I meet up, she will scream at me “WHERE’S MY EYE! WHERE’S MY EYE!”. HAHA. These pictures were taken a good 9 months ago but I’ve always been busy with other projects or just something else.

Finally I can say, NAH! HERE’S YOUR EYE!!! :D

Min was so nice to allow me to use her eye for this tutorial. We did this on a Sunday morning at her house, rather hurriedly, so don’t slam me for the unplucked eyebrows!

Blame Min. HAHA! Kidding! We’re always making fun of one another. Whenever we’re together, we’re like two little childish people. ‘Little’ because we are of almost the same height (I’m probably taller by like 1.5cm haha). EH! You also cannot be air stewardess! HAHAHA!

Min’s my really good friend and she played a big part in the initial stages of designing the Bun Bun Makeup Tips website. She helped design my name card too!

I mentioned in the Vertical Gradient Method of Eyeshadow Application tutorial, as part of the Asian Eyeshadow Tutorials series, that this method works extremely well on hooded lids and monolids.

Let’s analyze Min’s eyes before we start.

If You Don’t Mind A Big Fat Wand, The Loreal Ultra Volume Collagene Mascara Makes For A Very Good Mascara!

June 8, 2012 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

Remember the time when I threw out ten mascaras at once? Afterwards I was left with just about seven mascaras, liked three or four of them, but only really used one – the Lancome Oscillation Vibrating Infinite Powermascara. And even that was drying out on me. If you follow the ‘Law of Mascara Use’, which states to throw out mascaras every 3-6 months, the Oscillation was close to decay. Lol.

I exhausted the Lancome Oscillation Mascara and when it breathed its last, I had no choice but to go out and get a new mascara. I would have been more excited to go mascara-shopping if not for the fact that I was waiting for my Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara to arrive and was certain that every Lancome-owned mascara would be unconquerable. Was.

We’ll keep that ‘was’ for another time, okie?

The L’Oreal Ultra Volume Collagene Mascara normally retails for S$24.90, but it was on sale for S$15.90 I think? And then I used my Watsons points and got it for just S$11.90! YAY savings!

Makeup Tutorial For Singapore Airlines Flight Attendant Wannabes

May 18, 2012 by Bun Bun 28 Comments

My childhood ambition was to become an air stewardess.

Since I was a little girl, right up to just several years ago, I’ve always wanted to be an air stewardess. Not because I hankered after the prestige of being a Singapore Girl (what we call our Singapore Airlines female flight attendants), neither was it because I craved fitting my body into a tight-fitting kebaya, nor did I care about flying the international skies.

Actually, come to think of it, I didn’t have any real motivation behind my ambition, except for the fact that I saw my favorite kindergarten teacher, Teacher Lily, leave her teaching job to become an SQ flight attendant when I was in primary school. She loved me very much and was the ideal super beautiful face with a slender body kind of woman. I was in kindergarten but I knew beauty when I saw it.

The dream became more and more unrealizable as I finally had to resign to fate that I would never grow beyond 155cm. Lol.

Mitchy-Matchy: Colorful Eye Makeup To Go With A Colorful Dress

January 23, 2012 by Bun Bun 23 Comments

The basic rule is that if your outfit of the day is colorful or outstanding in some way or other, eye makeup should be kept to be a minimum – at least with the colors used – so that the different elements do not contest against one another.

That’s what I normally adhere to, but you see,

“In all matters of creativity, rules are meant to be broken when necessary.” – Haley Langford

So for the first day of 2012, I wore a new, colorful, asymetrical dress and matched it with statement-making eye makeup.

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Milk

Eyelid – Sugarpill Chromalust Absinthe

Contour Area – MAC Parfait Amour

Outer V – NYX Mermaid Green
