Beauty Tip: How To Make Your Makeup Powder Products Perform Like Brand New

July 16, 2012 by Bun Bun 16 Comments

Have you ever wondered why some of your powder products suddenly stop working like before? Like somehow your brush picks up less product from the same pan, somehow it doesn’t glide on as smoothly on the lids, somehow the color is not as pigmented, somehow it doesn’t last as long as before?

MAC Shroom eyeshadow was the one that got me thinking.

Shroom is described as a ‘soft muted golden beige with opalescent shimmer’ and is well-loved for its soft and subtle neutral beige color. I love it as a brow bone highlight as it’s not overbearing like some highlight shades that are either too glittery or too pale.

For example, Virgin from Urban Decay is a little too pale and leans slightly pink, not too good for my yellow undertone. Shimma Shimma from Makeup Geek is gorgeous but can be a little too shimmery for a very simple, day-time kind of look.

Every Girl Should Have Milani Baked Blush Luminoso In Her Makeup Bag For Warm, Glowy Cheeks!

January 8, 2012 by Bun Bun 31 Comments

If “Lumos!” is what the wizarding world chants to emit a warm glow from their wands, then “Luminoso” must be what we need to conjure a picture of perfect glowing cheeks in our muggle world.

Every time I use Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, I think of Lumos, a latin word meaning ‘light’. And a gorgeous light it brings to the face, it does!

Is Milani Luminoso A Dupe For Nars Orgasm?

I don’t know about you, but to me, a ‘dupe’ should be 90% similar to the object of comparison.

While Luminoso has been named by many as a great drugstore dupe for NARS Orgasm, I don’t think it reminds me of Orgasm that much.

Orgasm is predominantly pink with tinge of peach, while Luminoso is mainly peach with some sweet pink.

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 5

December 28, 2011 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

This must be one of my favorite eye makeup looks! It was one of my AH-HA! moments that resulted in the creation of this look. So many different colors used, all complementing each other flawlessly. I love how the gold, bronze-brown and maroon eyeshadows, and blue matte eyeliner look so perfect alongside one another. The green contact lenses brings the whole look together.

I it very mucheee!

I wore it to a Christmas Eve’s eve gathering with friends and it was perfect for my color-block ensemble of a persimmon-orange top and cobalt-blue shorts.

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 2

December 25, 2011 by Bun Bun 7 Comments

Told ya it’s gonna be a gold look! Heh heh heh.

Wooohooooo!! It’s Christmas Day! What are you doing today? Going anywhere special?

Today’s look is very easy, I played down the rest of the eyeshadows to make the MAC Old Gold pigment stand out. It’s a very warm and classy look, nothing too extravagant that would frighten off little cousins – like these!

Here’re the products used to create this gold eye makeup look:

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden

Eyelid – MAC Old Gold pigment

Contour Area – MAC Satin Taupe

Outer V – Urban Decay Naked Palette Darkhorse

Highlight – MAC Shroom

Foundation for Daily Use: Lancôme Maqui Blanc Miracle Natural Brightening Creator Liquid Foundation SPF 26 BO-01

September 25, 2011 by Bun Bun 12 Comments

I was hearing a lot about the New Lancome Maqui Miracle product range that promises to ‘unveil your skin’s radiance with the new Aura-Bright technology’.

I never get taken in to bombastic words that merely describe some new formula tweaked from the old. On the other hand, I get deceived by the highly photoshopped faces that model for the brand and products. HAHAHA!

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation is a great love of mine due to the matte finish it gives, but it goes on a little rich and perhaps because of its opaque squeeze tube, I never know how much of the product is left. So I feel insecure about it running out soon.

A light-weight foundation for everyday use would be ideal. Then I chanced upon the Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle which is made in Japan and specifically for Asian skin. HOORAY!

‘DESIGNED FOR ASIAN SKINS’
