Mitchy-Matchy: Colorful Eye Makeup To Go With A Colorful Dress

January 23, 2012 by Bun Bun 23 Comments

The basic rule is that if your outfit of the day is colorful or outstanding in some way or other, eye makeup should be kept to be a minimum – at least with the colors used – so that the different elements do not contest against one another.

That’s what I normally adhere to, but you see,

“In all matters of creativity, rules are meant to be broken when necessary.” – Haley Langford

So for the first day of 2012, I wore a new, colorful, asymetrical dress and matched it with statement-making eye makeup.

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Milk

Eyelid – Sugarpill Chromalust Absinthe

Contour Area – MAC Parfait Amour

Outer V – NYX Mermaid Green

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 5

December 28, 2011 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

This must be one of my favorite eye makeup looks! It was one of my AH-HA! moments that resulted in the creation of this look. So many different colors used, all complementing each other flawlessly. I love how the gold, bronze-brown and maroon eyeshadows, and blue matte eyeliner look so perfect alongside one another. The green contact lenses brings the whole look together.

I it very mucheee!

I wore it to a Christmas Eve’s eve gathering with friends and it was perfect for my color-block ensemble of a persimmon-orange top and cobalt-blue shorts.

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 4

December 27, 2011 by Bun Bun 10 Comments

Have you ever spent a White Christmas?

It was not until my 17th Christmas did I see and touch snow. My family and I were vacationing in Korea and my dad’s Korean friend said it was probably not going to snow that year. We were actually not too disappointed by that as the trip to Muju Island to ski on the mountains was enough to keep us all excited.

On Christmas morning I was the first to wake up and through my half-opened, blurry eyes, saw white flakes descending outside our window. IT SNOWED ON CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! :D GOODNESS! Pure exhilaration filled the room as my two younger brothers, who were only 8 and 9 year-olds then, squealed in delight and jumped around in the room.

It was extremely cold outside but it was so heartwarming to finally be able to extend my hand and have snow flakes falling onto my palm. Yes, I licked them up. :P

At 17 years of age, I wore not a single trace of makeup. There, I just brought this post back to topic. Haha!

So here’s today’s face and silver-blue eye makeup tutorial!

Makeup Haul: Real Techniques, Monistat, NYC, Milani, Prestige, Essence of Beauty

December 4, 2011 by Bun Bun 30 Comments

Alright, just because they are not available in Singapore does not mean I HAVE TO buy them.

But so many blogs I follow are people from the US and they go on and on about how good these ‘drugstore’ products are. I put drugstore between inverted commas because by the time they reach my hands, after the exchange rate set by the spree-er + shipping + delivery + handling fee, the prices are not very drugstore at all.
