Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach Blush Review: For Beautiful, Warm, Peachy Cheeks!

August 10, 2011 by Bun Bun 3 Comments

I don’t own an embarrassing truck load of blushes because on my cheeks, it’s either nothing, or pink, or coral. I’m boring like that when it comes to blushes. Due to non-existent cheekbones, I spend more time on my best features – my eyes – to draw attention away from my flat cheekbones to my played up eyes.

I thought I’d heard too much good stuff about the Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach Blush so it was only time that it promptly went into my basket when it waved at me. Yup, I don’t look at makeup, they just stand up and wave at me, shouting “HEY JULI! IT’S MY TURN TODAY!”. Hoho.

Retro Packaging

Too Faced, like Urban Decay and Benefit, likes to package their powder products in paper boxes, albeit very sturdy cardboard ones. Another popular cardboard-made palette is the customizable makeup Z-Palette. I think paper gives a lot more room for design elements, metal probably makes printing a little more challenging.

Paper is more environmentally friendly too! Normally I shun the Too Faced palette boxes because they are wayyyy too bulky, but this one is just right.

On the cover of Papa Don’t Peach is a Madonna look-alike pinup doll of the 50’s. Wavy hair, highly arched and waxed eyebrows, crazily thick eyelashes, red lipstick and of course, warm peachy cheeks. So very retro. The packaging makes me wanna play dress up in a polka dot dress and dance a-go-go.

My Travel Makeup Essentials For A Seven Day Trip To Taiwan

July 24, 2011 by Bun Bun 12 Comments

Besides beauty product reviews and makeup tutorials, I love reading posts about beauty bloggers sharing with their readers on ‘What’s in my purse’, ‘My top 5 beauty products’, ‘Makeup essentials for a trip’, you know, lists of favorites.

I’d just returned from a trip to Taiwan when I read Leesha’s post on what she brought on a trip. So that inspired me to write mine too! The picture above is also a Taiwan Tourism Logo inspired-picture! Must not copy exactly though, copyright issues! XD

I actually meant to get this post up long ago. Like reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy long ago. 5 months? It somehow got buried under and I cleanly forgot about it. But it’s a good thing though, since now I would have reviewed more products than I did 4 months ago.

Some of the products mentioned in this post I may have stopped using by the time of writing – like mascara which must not be used for more than 6 months, and others which I may have found better alternatives. It’s been 4 months, things get used up and there’s always a new contender! =)

Now let’s get started!

Here are what I brought with me on my seven days Taiwan trip!

I just HAD to bring that many makeup items. And I haven’t even started on the tools yet!

I really tried to cut down, but these are my travel makeup essentials! XD

Birthday Makeup Haul: Lancome, MAC, NYX, elf, Too Faced

July 21, 2011 by Bun Bun 9 Comments

July must be the month of mad spending!

After my birthday haul of close to S$200 at Watsons to make use of the birthday bonus points, and order of Sugarpill cosmetics, OCC lip tars, MAC sample pigments from ACW, and order of Lancome Artliner, Lancome Blanc Miracle, and Bobbi Brown Long-wear Gel Liner in Black Ink from a friend, I still went ahead to buy more makeup.

Level-headedness doesn’t go well with me during my birthday month, I guess.

So here are my loot:

Lancome Oscillation Mascara

MAC Eye Khol in Fascinating

NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Rust Pearl

NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Turqoise Pearl

MAC Eyeshadow Stars ‘n’ Rockets

Tutorial: How to fix broken eyeshadow – Too Faced Duo in Lucky Charms

May 2, 2011 by Bun Bun 1 Comment

You’re in a frenzy getting ready in the morning, and then your eyeshadow slips through your fingers and lands hard on the floor, shattering to a gazillion pieces. Your heart stops and you cry “That’s LIMITED EDITION!” Sounds familiar?

The Too Faced Lucky Charms Duo Eyeshadow charmed my socks off when I saw it. I needed some green in my eyeshadow collection so in the basket it went! The gorgeous lime, a unique color that shines like spring green meadows, really brightens up my eyes.

Despite its rich pigmentation and crease-resistance, the Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo palettes come in a light plastic casing with a loose cover. The Lucky Charm duo eyeshadow is very soft – both soft in terms of texture and solidity.

AHHHHHH….!!!!!
