Makeup Tutorial: Golden Green, Lavender, Bronze And Life Of A Bun!

July 2, 2012 by Bun Bun 13 Comments

Here’s the makeup tutorial I promised! I wore this for the first NDP 2012 media event I attended with the bloggers, and it received plenty of compliments! It’s not dramatic or OTT, in fact, it’s very wearable and I would categorize it under a daily look. It’s also not too difficult to create. Try it! :)

Have you read my second post for NDP 2012? You can see my 16-year-old face. LOL.

EYE MAKEUP

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden

Eyelid – Makeup Geek Shimmermint (inner 2/3); Makeup Geek Unicorn (outer 1/3)

Inner Corner – Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma

Contour Area – Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear. I really love Cocoa Bear. The warm brown really blends nicely into my skintone.

Outer V – None

Brow Bone Highlight – Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma

Lower Lash Line – Urban Decay Smog

Eyeliner – L’Oreal Color Infallible Emerald Lame; Bobbi Brown Longwear Gel Liner Black Ink. I applied Emerald Lame first, then Black Ink over it so that a little Emerald Lame peeks out above Black Ink, for a more dimensional feel. Love this effect.

Eyelash Primer – Dior Diorshow Maximizer

Mascara – L’Oreal Collagene Mascara

A Much Requested Eyeshadow Tutorial – Vertical Gradient Method Of Eyeshadow Application

January 17, 2012 by Bun Bun 17 Comments

Hello everyone!

Chinese New Year is approaching faster than I thought. I can hardly find time between all that cleaning, clearing, last minute shopping for clothes and shoes, to blog. But you see, I love you guys very much, so despite all that mad rush, I’m doing a highly requested eye makeup tutorial today. Just for you!

It’s also a good time to launch this makeup tutorial since most girls would spend more effort on applying makeup when they go visiting so what better time than now to share a quick and easy eye makeup tutorial for the new year?

In today’s tutorial, we will use the Vertical Gradient Method Of Eyeshadow Application, a great method for those with monolids or have a fold that is very near to the lashline. These characteristics are typical of Asian eyes.

Previously, in Part 2 of the Eyeshadow Tutorials for Asians series, I used neutrals as those are the easiest to blend and would look good on all skin tones and eye colors. Shades of blue will be used in this tutorial, for those who want to move away from browns and neutrals, for a more fun look!

Products used:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  • The Face Shop Eyeshadow PK103
  • NYX Irises
  • Kat Von D Beethoven Palette Speed Blue
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette in Hustle
  • Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base
  • Lancome Oscillation Vibrating Infinite Powermascara
  • NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil EP05 Dark Brown

Step 1: Prime the Lids

Apply UDPP in Eden all over the lid first, then Milk.

Step 2: Base Color to Mark Perimeter

I love The Face Shop Eyeshadow PK103 because it is just so versatile – it works on the lid, inner corner, lower lashline, brown bone highlight, cheekbone highlight – and behaves like a chameleon – blends in with any color family!

Apply the shimmering base up to the socket line. Be sure not to leave a line that shows an obvious divide between the naked brow bone area and PK103. It’s quite hard to get a harsh line with PK103 anyway.

Easy Eye Makeup Look: Some Glitter Eyeliner, Color On The Lower Lashline, False Eyelashes And You’re Done!

December 16, 2011 by Bun Bun 18 Comments

I haven’t done an eye makeup look so simple in a while.

Ever since I learnt how to use multiple colors, how to blend eyeshadows, how to attack and conquer the Contour Area (Learn to define your Contour Area instead of the Crease), accentuate the Outer V (How to define the Outer V?), and other makeup tips and tricks, I never spot a look without doing at least one of the above.

The other day I was doing a review and swatches of the Bourjois Liner Glitter Fizz Eyeliner before going out for dinner with friends. I was running late, so I simply threw on some false eyelashes, swept some green eyeshadow on the lower lash line, popped some falsies on and I was good to go!
