8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 7

December 30, 2011 by Bun Bun 12 Comments

I cannot believe I have managed to keep up with the 8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials series. I’d feared I’d drop out by Day 4, but LOOK! It’s Day 7 already! *Applause and whistles*

Today’s look was exactly what I wore on Christmas day. I went for a movie with my siblings and cousins and then we all went to grandma’s house in the late evening to join the rest of the family.

Up till I was in Primary 6, Christmas gatherings used to involve a big, beautifully decorated Christmas tree at one of my uncle’s house, under which presents wrapped in the most colorful wrapping papers laid. Back then, it was only me, my younger sister, and a few cousins, making the third generation a mere total of 5 or 6.

We would sneak (in full view of the adults, actually. lol.) up to the tree and look for our names that would be found on the presents, giggle to ourselves, pretend we didn’t see anything, and put the presents back.

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 6

December 29, 2011 by Bun Bun 2 Comments

For my dear readers who have requested some looks created using the Horizontal Gradient Method of Eyeshadow Application, here’s one for you!

Multiple colors seem to have been used for this eye makeup look, but guess what? Discounting the eyeliner and inner corner, I only used TWO colors – MAC Irises and MAC Parfait Amour!

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden

Eyelid – MAC Irises

Contour Area – MAC Parfait Amour

Outer V – More layers of MAC Irises

8 Days of Christmas Eye Makeup Tutorials: Day 2

December 25, 2011 by Bun Bun 7 Comments

Told ya it’s gonna be a gold look! Heh heh heh.

Wooohooooo!! It’s Christmas Day! What are you doing today? Going anywhere special?

Today’s look is very easy, I played down the rest of the eyeshadows to make the MAC Old Gold pigment stand out. It’s a very warm and classy look, nothing too extravagant that would frighten off little cousins – like these!

Here’re the products used to create this gold eye makeup look:

EYES

Eyeshadow Primer – UDPP Eden

Eyelid – MAC Old Gold pigment

Contour Area – MAC Satin Taupe

Outer V – Urban Decay Naked Palette Darkhorse

Highlight – MAC Shroom

Colorful Eye Makeup Tutorial: Asians Can Rock Multi-Color Eye Makeup Looks Too!

September 1, 2011 by Bun Bun 16 Comments

It’s a good thing I always write down, somewhere, the products used for makeup looks. I knew I would be less shy to put up more makeup looks one day. Yup, I have trouble with putting pictures of myself up on my own blog. I’m shy.

It’s just so weird seeing photos of myself on my blog, even though I have thousands of them on facebook. Maybe it’s because in those photos, I’m not smiling by myself into the camera, or taking close-up shots of my eye/brow/cheek/lip.

Besides, it’s so much harder to take photos of oneself! There’s always something wrong – stray strands of hair falling over the eyebrow, some fleck of dust sitting on the cheek, a tiny crumble of biscuit on the lip. For every photo selected, I have just about 20 variations of that, maybe tilting one degree to the left, or twelve degrees to the right. Gah!

I think I just have to get used to it.

So let’s start with a colorful look I did some time ago, when I still had my curly hair (gawd, looking at these photos make me miss them so much!).

You will need the following:

Face:

Face Primer – Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

Foundation – Stage Cosmetics Photo Pro Foundation (02 Take 1 and 03 Take 2)

Concealer – Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer (Light Golden)

Cheeks:

Contouring Powder – MAC Gold-Go-Lightly Studio Careblend Pressed Powder

Blush – NARS Orgasm Blush

Highlighter – MAC Beauty Powder Too Chic

Makeup Haul: MAC Shroom, MAC Naked Lunch, MAC Satin Taupe, MAC Eyebrow Brunette, MAC Pink Swoon, Shiseido Mascara Base

March 25, 2011 by Bun Bun Leave a Comment

I don’t know why I ended up with 3 MAC neutral/brown eyeshadows. I’m not even a fan of neutral eye makeup. I love my purples, blues, greens, yellows and reds. But I thought I should give ‘em a try since so many people love Shroom for being a great brow bone highlight, Naked Lunch for its subtle pinkish charm and Satin Taupe for its purplish brown tone.

MAC blush – Pink Swoon, MAC eyeshadows in Satin Taupe, Naked Lunch, Shroom.

And then there’s my THIRD pan of MAC blush in Pink Swoon. You just can’t go wrong with that pure a pink on your cheeks! Pink Swoon is also Carrie Underwood’s favorite blush from MAC, which she wore on her wedding day.

Also got MAC eyebrow pencil in Brunette. It’s not really a pencil coz there is no need for sharpening due to its automatic sharpening mechanism. I hope to love this because my previous Rimmel eyebrow pencil was way too dark for my black eyebrows. =( Eyebrows drawn too thick, too thin, too dark or too soft can affect one’s makeup and throw it off balance.

Lastly, there’s Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base, which is a clear eyelash primer to be layered beneath mascara for longer lasting mascara wear. Gonna do a comparison of this with my current Smashbox Lash Primer! (Update: Comparison of Smash Lash Primer and Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base)

Clear Base!

Yay Hay to makeup hauls! =D
