I Have Gone To The World Of Crazy Hair Colors At Salon Vim Bugis, And Am Not Turning Back!

Before I tell you how in love I am with my current hair color now – and the innumerable compliments I’ve received for it, let us go back to some weeks ago when I went to have my hair done at Salon Vim’s swanky new branch at Bugis.

Dreamy, aren’t they, these dangling bulbs?

Newly opened and so crowded already!

Gary gave me a tour of the two-storey property and like him, I really love the modern interior set inside a heritage-rich facade. The shafts of sunlight streaming in from the old-fashioned windows on the second floor synthesize with warm interior lights to give character to the room.

Your Crowning Glory Deserves A Specially Concocted Cocktail Treatment Made Just For You

December 16, 2012 by Bun Bun 6 Comments

It took just one horrible salon experience to reduce my hair to the texture of dried twigs. It was shocking to see the amount of damage done by a previous salon to my crowning glory – everyone who saw my hair in person could not believe that the previous salon would allow anyone to walk out of their salon with hair in such a terrible condition.

I looked like a WALKING JOSS STICK. :(

I was devastated with the condition of my hair but ten minutes into having my hair analyzed and speaking to the stylists at Salon Vim, I knew my hair had hope. I knew restoring health and shine back to my hair wasn’t impossible anymore. I knew I was in good hands.

For my first visit at Salon Vim a month ago, I had the moisture treatment following an ombre hair job, a dark brown base with magenta highlights. Super pretty!

This time, I asked my stylist Ivan what hair color would make a person’s hair look healthier and he said dark colors would naturally provide that. So after some discussion we decided to have my hair darkened to a dark purple with red-purple highlights. No more ombre, but hidden highlights.

I love how my hair looks so multidimensional, with different degrees of purple and violet peeking out from curtains of maroon.

GORGEOUS, isn’t it!!! Takes real skill and technique to achieve this. Thank you, Ivan! :D

The photos of me in the orange top were taken a week after the visit to Salon Vim and my hair was still SO SOFT and extremely manageable. No styling needed, no blow drying. All I had to do to get ready to go out was apply Mythic Oil and that’s it.

It was the magical cocktail treatment, I tell you.

What I loved about the cocktail treatment at Salon Vim was the fact that it was specially MADE FOR ME.

The Best TLC For My Hair Experienced At Salon Vim

November 13, 2012 by Bun Bun 15 Comments

I have long and thick hair, the envy of many, which I love very much too. But my crowning glory was previously intoxicated with a terrible concoction of chemicals and drowned with processes I’m surprised the strands haven’t given up on me and torched themselves up like dry forests. My hair went from dry to utterly damaged within a month.

Every time I scrunched the ends of my hair together, I felt like I was holding a bunch of wire. Or shredded squid.

(Smile for what! Your hair looks like cotton candy, and NOT in a pretty way! >.<”)

OMG. I think real dried shredded squid looks even healthier than my hair!

Salon Vim came into my life like a beacon of hope and resurrected my hair.

Gary, Stephanie and Ivan analyzed the state of my hair and discussed ways to give life to my dead hair. I’m so thankful I managed to catch Gary in time before he left for an appointment for he gave me a haircut that not only reshaped my hair but also removed the damaged ends, yet at the same time allowed me to retain length.

He initially asked me which length should my hair  be in order to get rid of all the fried ends. I looked at my hair and pointed to my ear. LOL.

After receiving the masterpiece of a haircut, Gary left me in Ivan’s care. Ivan explained to me in detail how he would be coloring my hair and gave me an idea of the eventual look. I like that he was really meticulous in putting together the two colors for me, making sure to find those that would make my hair appear healthier, given the current condition of my hair. The colors would also suit my skintone and brighten up my complexion. So much science into finding the right colors!

Ivan putting much thought into finding the right colors for me
