Two Eye Makeup Looks Created with Sugarpill Eyeshadows!

October 8, 2011 by Bun Bun 19 Comments

I’ve been having such great fun playing with my newly acquired Sugarpill Burning Heart quad, Sweetheart quad, and Absinthe loose eyeshadow! These eyeshadows have great pigmentation and the colors are just stunning.

Here are 2 of the first few looks I’ve done with Sugarpill products. Hope you like them!

Eye Makeup Look #1: Brazil and Spain Soccer Jerseys Inspired

The Boyfriend was deciding between the yellow and green Brazil jersey and the red and blue Spain jersey, so I created a look based on his dilemma.

Eye Primer – Urban Decay Primer Potion Original

Inner 1/3 Lid – Sugarpill Buttercupcake (with MAC 239)

Middle 1/3 Lid – Sugarpill Midori

Outer 1/3 Lid – Sugarpill Love+

Contour Area – Sugarpill Flamepoint (with MAC 239 and MAC 217)

Outer V – Sugarpill Love+ (with MAC 219)

Highlight – Sugarpill Tako (with elf eyeshadow brush)

Lower Lash Line – Sugarpill Midori (Inner half), Sugarpill Afterparty (Outer half) (with MAC 219)

Eyeliner – Kate Gel Liner BU-1 (with MAC 263)

Upper Waterline (Tightlining) – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Zero

Mascara Base – Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base

Mascara – Lancome Oscillation Vibrating Infinite Mascara

Brow – NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil #EP05 Dark Brown

These lashes are reeeaallllyyyy heavy. I rarely use them because my eyelids get tired from exerting extra energy just to keep my eyes open. Lol. They’re great for dramatic makeup looks though.

Eye Makeup Look #2: Sports Shoes Inspired

My brother has a pair of sneakers that has the colors orange, purple and yellow. So that was the inspiration for this look. See, you can draw inspiration from almost anything at all! =D

Eye Primer – Urban Decay Primer Potion Original

Lid – Sugarpill Dollipop (with MAC 239)

Contour Area – Sugarpill Flamepoint (with MAC 239 and MAC 217)

Outer V – Sugarpill Poison Plum (with MAC 219)

Highlight – Sugarpill Tako (with elf eyeshadow brush)

Lower Lash Line – Sugarpill Poison Plum (Outer 1/3), Sugarpill Flamepoint (Middle), Sugarpill Buttercupcake (Inner 1/3) (with MAC 219 and Coastal Scents Brush)

Inner Corner – Sugarpill Buttercupcake

Eyeliner – Bobbi Brown Black Ink (with MAC 263)

Upper Waterline (Tightlining) – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Zero

Mascara Base – Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base

Mascara – Lancome Oscillation Vibrating Infinite Mascara

Brow – NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil #EP05 Dark Brown

Aren’t the colors just amazing?

Alright! I’m gonna go get ready for a dinner and movie date with The Boyfriend. Gonna watch Real Steel. Has anyone watched it yet? Maybe I’ll find inspiration for another look from the movie!

Thank you dear! I got the lashes from SASA, some Taiwan brand I think. Really dramatic, aren't they? I'm using Panasonic Lumix. It's not as good compared to a DSLR, but I like it coz it's small and handy.

You have really nice eyes! And I agree with the other comment, your blending skills are very good :) On a different note, do you have any recommendations for cleansers and toners which are gentle on the skin and won't cause irritation? I have been using the Clinique 3 step process for years now and only recently started noticing that my skin becomes very dry and tight after I cleanse it. Right after I cleanse and tone, my skin will become incredibly tight and you can actually see the little cracks forming unless I apply my moisturiser immediately after. If you could provide a few recommendations I'd really appreciate it! I'm still so glad I asked you about how to remove eyeliner after tightlining, the Biore makeup remover has become a staple for me :) Thank you!

Thank you Lina and you're very welcome regarding the Biore makeup remover. =) I understand what you mean with the Clinique process. I used to use Clinique too, for oily skin. The toner was the purple one and it made my skin feel awfully DRY. It didn't help that I have acne-prone skin to begin with, and the Clinique 3-step process didn't help fight them at all. Now I'm using The Body Shop Tree Tree toner. I never attribute a single product to the condition of my skin because there are so many factors that contribute to it, but I feel that this toner gets rid of the last traces of dirt on my face pretty well, and going to bed with a clean face is an important step in reducing the probability of clogged up skin. Being 'anti-bacterial' due to tea tree elements helps tame my often inflamed skin as well. I'm already on my second bottle. However I won't recommend it if you have dry skin. It tends to leave my oily skin matte, so it may make dry skin feel tight. I'm also looking for a new cleanser since the one I'm using is running out. Have you tried any that you like a lot?

Hi Juli! Thanks for getting back to me. I went into the Body Shop today intending to purchase the Tea Tree toner you recommended but one of the SAs there started talking to me and he asked me about my skin condition. I ended up purchasing the Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish (because he thought the Seaweed range would be to drying on my skin), the Seaweed Clarifying Toner and the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. I haven't used the products yet but I will let you know how they work out! So excited to try them because I don't think I can stand using Clinique another day. It's just so incredibly harsh on my skin and leaves it feeling so tight afterwards :( As for cleansers I've only ever used the Clinique one and it has been fine for about 1.5 years but I'm not sure why lately my skin just hasn't been reacting well. I'm hoping to get some samples from other brands to see what will work on my skin! I read reviews online and tend to be very easily swayed but I need to keep in mind that everyone has different skin!

Wow! You're so nice Lina! Thanks for getting back to me on the product updates. The Vitamin C cleanser sounds awesome under your recommendation. I must make a trip to TBS to try it out! Yes! I don't know what the Clinique toner was doing. *rolls eyes* My Tea Tree one also leaves the cotton pad dirty and it makes me feel that my skin is very clean. Lol.

HI AGAIN! Just a little update on the products. I've really loved every single product :D The Vitamin C cleanser smells great and I love the little beads in it. I use it with my little rubber thing from eBay and the little bumps I had on my forehead have minimised! It's much more gentle and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or anything afterwards :) I think you should definitely give it a go! I am also loving the Seaweed Clarifying Toner because it does the job yet isn't too strong. The first time I used it, there was so quite a bit of dirt on the cotton squab, something I rarely saw when I used Clinique. So I wonder what the Clinique one has been doing this whole time? Hahaha anyway I think I'll be sticking to these products!! My skin loves them :D

Bun Bun

Ooooooh! I absolutely LOVE the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream! I actually wrote a post on it coz it has worked really well for me! I hope it will work on your skin too. The Vitamin C range intrigues me. I have the Vitamin C capsules, which I use as a night cream on alternate nights becoz it is so darn expensive, even though I got it at a The Body Shop sale. It makes my skin feel very moisturized and well taken care of. And my skin seems to appear more radiant the next morning. The radiance part could be my imagination (lol) but it definitely feels more moisturized. Let me know how the Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish turns out yea? =D

I love first look the most. I'm partial with green. teeheehee. But yes, the colors are indeed amazing!

Thanks Sheila! Do you like bright colors too? =D

Liane

Wow, those look amazing! I applaud your blending skills :) May I ask what lashes you are wearing for the second look though?

Bun Bun
Bun Bun 5pts

Thank you Liane! =D Oh I bought those lashes from Taiwan. I think each pair came up to about SGD 1.50. The lashes look great, but are hardly reusable after I remove them. Like they go crooked and wonky. So... in the long run, it's not that cheap since they have to be thrown away after each use. =X
